Tuition Policy

Our school was founded in 1995 with the goal of providing quality fine arts education to the children and adults of the San Francisco Bay Area.  Almaden School of Music, Art and Dance merged with David K's Music School, Inc in October of 2004 to become one of the largest independent fine arts schools in the area.   Our staff of over 50 instructors includes some of the most highly qualified local music, art, dance and foreign language professionals.  Our teachers have degrees in their fields:  Bachelor's, Master's Degrees or Ph.D.'s complemented by many years of performance and teaching experience.

RECITALS

Recitals will be held two times per year.  Recital fees depend on venue.

HOLIDAYS

No Classes on the following days:

New Years Day                                                          Thanksgiving Day
Independence Day                                                    Christmas Day
Halloween                                                                   New Years Eve

MATERIALS

Students are responsible for purchasing materials such as sheet music and dance attire.  Art materials are supplied by instructor for a fee of $5 per student, per month.

REGISTRATION

1. There is a one-time Registration Fee.
2. The fee is $50 for the first family member and $30 for each additional family member.

TUITION

1. Tuition is collected on a monthly basis and due BEFORE the First of the month.  **Prorated tuition available in December, June, July, August with advanced notice.
2. 1 make-up allowed per calendar month
3. Make-ups expire after 6 months
4. Tuition is subject to a $10 late fee if paid after the 7th of the month.
5. We reserve the right, at our discretion, to dismiss any student whose tuition account is outstanding.
6. A $12 fee will be charged on all returned checks.

SCHEDULING

1. Requests to reschedule must be made 24 hours in advance or the lesson is forfeited.
2. 1 make-up allowed per calendar month
3. Make-ups expire after 6 months
4. A substitute may be provided when a teacher is ill or on vacation.
5. There will be no tuition credit for missed classes.
6. No Refunds
7. Rescheduling is subject to instructor availability.
8. A student's place on a teacher's schedule may be guaranteed up to two weeks.
9. Two weeks written notice is required to drop a class.

DISCOUNTS

A Family Discount of 10% will be applied to the 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 7th, 10th, 11thclasses in a family.    EXCEPTIONS: No discount for Dance and Group Music, Language or Group Chess Classes.

Discount will be applied to lower amount.  (ex. If a student is taking a piano class and an art class, the art class will be discounted).

Discount applied toward a full month's tuition and paid before the 7th.

Trial Lessons are offered one time only per teacher. NONREFUNDABLE

Music              30 minute individual trial       $40
Art                    60 minute group tria               $25 (includes materials)
French            60 minute group trial              $35
Dance             60 or 90 minute group trial   $20 or $30

*family discount does not apply to Group Music, Language or Chess Lessons
