Ms. Jessica Cao studied violin for over 16 years with her passion for music backed by her family’s constant support. Native to the Bay Area, she was concertmaster of the Oakland Youth Symphony Orchestra from 2014-2016, concertmaster of the 2016 Bay of Hope Youth Orchestra’s Festival Orchestra at San Francisco’s Davies Symphony Hall, and a winner of the Meadowmount quartet competition in 2017. She has studied under renowned professors such as Wei He, current Dean of Julliard Tianjin, Gerardo Ribeiro, student of Ivan Galamian, and Barbara Gorzynska from Vienna’s Prayner Conservatory. Jessica’s passion for educating the next generation led her to start teaching violin in 2014. Her teaching philosophy is rooted in guiding students to find joy in learning an instrument through creative analogies, body awareness, and musical anecdotes per the Suzuki, Mimi Zweig methods, and Alexander Technique. |
